our Mission

To provide quality and compassionate care, (Community helping Community,) creating a medical and dental home.

our vision

Health Partners, Inc. is dedicated to serving the community with quality healthcare, a commitment to excellence in patient services, and providing compassionate care for those most in need. We are determined to guide patients to achieve better health for themselves and their families. As an organization, our standard starts at excellence and our goal is to enhance the quality of health for those who entrust us with their care.

our History

In 1992 Sisters Michaeleen and Gladys Marie of the Sisters of Holy Cross founded Health Partners to provide healthcare for citizens in Charles County who had no insurance and could not afford to pay for health care.

Initially, doctors were asked to see patients in their offices on a pro bono basis. In 1996 the County Commissioners allowed Health Partners to renovate a space at the Old Waldorf School for a new medical clinic. The clinic operates as an independent non-profit organization, with a volunteer Board of Directors.

In 2007 we built out the dental clinic with funding provided by The Greater Waldorf Jaycees. Health Partners now operates a Primary Care Medical Clinic staffed by a full-time Nurse Practitioner and a Dental Clinic staffed by three Dentists and a Dental Hygienist.

Recent changes to health insurance introduced by the Affordable Care Act have allowed Health Partners to expand their programs to meet the challenging needs of providing access to care for a greatly expanded Medicaid population. On January 31, 2014, Health Partners was awarded a $300,000 grant from the Maryland Community Health Resource Commission for “Expansion of services and transition to include a Fee for Services” for Medicaid-qualified clients who wish to find a medical home at Health Partners, Inc. This grant has helped Health Partners meet their long-term goal of becoming a self-sustaining clinic.

Today we continue to accept those with no insurance as well as those with Medicare, Medicaid, and some commercial plans. For the uninsured, we offer a sliding fee scale based on household income. The sliding scale fees are based on the current year's Federal Poverty Level (FPL). The fees are adjusted up to 200% above the FPL, patients at the lower end of this scale will pay a discounted fee for a medical/dental visit.

our Partners

Strategic Partners:

These partnerships allow Health Partners to better serve our community and connect individuals to the services they are looking for.

Faith-Based Partners:

For the past 21 years, in addition to the many volunteers who have dedicated countless hours to the uninsured of Charles County, Health Partners has relied on the unfailing support of its faith-based partners. The clinic that God built began from the vision of two Catholic Sisters of the Holy Cross, but it continues to thrive because of the ecumenical support of churches of every faith as well as faith-based organizations and ministries.

Current Members of our Faith Council:

On behalf of the many people who have been served through your steadfast support, we thank you and pray for God’s blessing on your ministries.
